Honest, intelligent news and reviews for manga romantics
Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note centers on sixth grader Aya Tachibana who worries about friends, family, grades, and more. One day, she joins the Detective Team KZ with four very unique boys that she met in cram school: Kazuomi Wakatake, Takakazu Kuroki, Kazunori Uesagi, and Kazuhiko Kozuka.
So this weekend I decided to check out this new anime because it seems to be the only shoujo anime that’s not based on an idol group this fall season. The series was originally light novels and was adapted into a manga that ran in Nakayoshi magazine. I was curious to see how this cute little reverse harem detective group played out.
After the first three episodes I can say that I rather like the main character, Aya. The boys are pretty stereotypical reverse harem types. It was bluntly obvious after the first episode which one she would end up having a crush on – of course the one that almost ran her over with his bicycle! The first mystery the group tries to solve is who stole Wakatake’s new dirt bike. And here is where I got impatient with this series. See the episodes are only 8 and half minutes long. So it’s taken 3 episodes to get through the first little mystery and we haven’t even solved it yet. I feel like we’re just getting into the story and the episode’s over. I hope this means that it will get a lot of short episodes.
Don’t get me wrong, I happen to really like the characters so far. I think the middle school detective group is a rather cute shoujo plot. I hope it plays out well. The eight minute episodes are a little short for my taste, though. You go watch it and see what you think.
You can find Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note on Crunchyroll.
I can’t find the Manga online do you know where I could read it online ?
