New on Shoujo Shelves – February 2017

It’s the time of year for love! Chocolate and kisses – whatever your romantic heart desires. There’s plenty of new titles to help put you in the mood for romance as well. Here’s what you’ll find new on shelves in February.

It’s the month for new yuri with titles like Secret of the Princess, Kae-san and the Morning Glories, and Kiss and White Lily for My Dearest Girl all starting this month. Don’t forget the Revolutionary Girl Utena Box Set is coming out as well. Sad to see it end, but the final volume of That Wolf Boys is Mine is this month, too. Let’s see what other series are continuing in the month of February:

Editor’s Note: If you come to this list and find something that’s not classified as shoujo, that’s because there are fewer and fewer titles that are strictly shoujo. We are trying to highlight new titles that girls or shoujo fans would be interested in knowing about.

Fruits Basket Collector’s Edition, vol. 10

The much-loved Fruits Basket series winds down to the homestretch. Tohru’s feelings for Kyo come to the forefront as she desperately searches for a way to break the curse. If she can’t find a cure in time, Kyo will be locked away by the Sohma for the rest of his life! Graduation is fast approaching, meaning major decisions that will affect not only Tohru and Kyo but all of the members of the Sohma Zodiac. Did you hear that chihayafuru is finally being licensed? I was so surprised when I heard the news! Never would’ve thought that such a wordy and poetic manga would be translated into English but I can’t say I’m not overjoyed. To be honest started jumping around the room when I got the news. Definitely gonna buy it- it’s one of my favourites

- It’s easier for them to do the digital release only. They should have done the print version a few years ago, and I’m still disappointed it’s only digital – but I’ll take it. They are also doing Akiko Higashimura’s new series too – Tokyo Tarareba Girls.
