I’m going to say something unpopular but it’s my opinion: I dislike the SAO romance…I like that they respect each other….but it’s done so unrealistically. It feels like wish fullfilment….sorry just had to say it.
I personally feel like the SPice and Wolf light novels handled the romance so much more maturely and elegantly. I highly suggest this series because the translations are so well done, the romance is believable and engaging and the love interest is so witty, snarky and intelligent and more female characters should be like her.
Picked up Requiem, Komomo, Silent Voice, Ancient Magus, and Maid Sama!
