Hakuoki SSL ~ Sweet School Life ~ is getting a live-action film adaption, which will be open Feb. 6 in Japan. It’s set in modern times and the characters are high school students and teachers.
The website for the Dance with Devils stage musical adaptation is now open. You can watch the first CM on the site. The musical will be done in March 2016.
The cast of Alice in the Country of Hearts ~ The Best Revival ~ has been revealed in costume. The musical will be performed in January 2016. The original musical was performed in February and the DVD of the performance is available.
The josei manga, Dame no Watashi ni Koishite Kudasai (Please Fall in Love with the Worthless Me) will be adapted into a live-action TV drama. According to ANN, it’s about “Michiko Shibata, a 29 year old woman whose life is turned upside down when she loses her job. She eventually gets a new job working in a cafe, only to discover that the cafe’s manager is her former boss from her previous employment.”
The visual novel for Clannad will be released on Monday on Steam for Windows PC. The story is about, according to Sekai Project, “Hikarizaka Private High School student Tomoya Okazaki, an emotionally-distant delinquent student. After losing his mother in an accident and subsequently falling victim to an abusive, alcoholic father, Okazaki meets strange young girl, Nagisa Furukawa, who is repeating the year due to a severe illness. Furukawa enlists Okazaki to help revive their school’s drama club. With nothing much else going on in his life, Okazaki agrees to help, making friends with many of the school’s other students along the way, and learning about all of the different problems and challenges that they face…”
Kurosaki-kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai, a shoujo manga that runs in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Friend magazine, will get a two-episode live-action TV drama. It will air in December in Japan. The manga already has a live-action film which will open in February 2016.
The cast of live-action film adaptation of Kōdai-ke no Hitobito has been announced. According to ANN, “The story centers around Kie Hirano, a 30-year old female office worker with a large-scale imagination. She gets to know Mitsumasa Kōdai, a handsome colleague, who also happens to be a telepath who can read people’s thoughts. Mitsumasa is charmed by Kie’s personality, and they start a relationship. Mitsumasa’s mother Yūko judges Kie to be unfit to marry her son, but the family matriarch Ann makes Yūko retract the statement. Now Ann teaches Kie how to be a proper lady, and Kie’s life becomes intertwined with the Kōdai family.” The manga runs in Shueisha’s Monthly You magazine. Laura did a review of it here.
Arina Tanemura, creator of Full Moon, is ending her Neko to Watashi no Kinyobi manga Nov. 20. The manga runs in Shueisha’s Margaret magazine.
