Vertical has acquired several licenses including Mizuki Tsujimura’s Anime Supremacy novel with illustrations by CLAMP. According to Anime News Network, “The novel follows people in the anime industry who are working on two series that will air in the same cour (quarter of the year): one is a legendary director’s anime that is nine years in the making, and the other is an anime from a promising new director. An animator who is the topic of conversation online and a government worker on a sightseeing trip get involved with these projects.”

Those with Funimation accounts may want to hurry and change their passwords as the website’s account data has been hacked. More than 2.5 million accounts have been allegedly compromised. Funimation has not released information.

Yuri!!! on Ice won an award at the Tokyo Anime Award Festival. The anime won the Anime Fan Award.

Crunchyroll added the 52-episode anime, Super Gals!, to its catalog. According to Right Stuf, “Sporting designer clothes, designer make-up, and designer nails, Ran Kotobuki is the very picture of a trendy Shibuya girl, but don’t let her outer appearance fool you. This girl comes from a family of cops, and she’s ready to lay you out flat if you even think about causing trouble in her town! …At least, she will when she’s not distracted by karaoke, shopping, and dodging her homework. Join Ran and her friends as they defend the streets of Shibuya and attempt to shop their way into the history books as the most famous Gals ever!”

The Ensemble Stars anime is postponed. Not much more information has been released regarding why.
