Funimation wants to raise funds to create the English dub The Vision of Escaflowne through a Kickstarter campaign. Their goal is $150,000. If the goal is met, they will release Blu-ray and DVD versions with original uncut Japanese HD with English subtitbles and a new English dub.
Finalists for the 20th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize include the creators of Orange (Ichigo Takano), Chihayafuru (Yuki Suetsugu), and Yotsuba&! (Kiyohiko Azyma).
Cocoa Fujiwara’s Katsute Maho Shojo to Aku wa Tekitai Shiteita manga will be released March 22. It’s the final volume of the manga from Fujiwara who passed away last year. She is the creator of Inu x Boku SS, which is published in English by Yen Press.

The manga Furenaba Ochin by Yuua Oda is getting a live-action drama series. According to Anime News Network: “The story follows Natsu Kamijō, a married woman who lives for her family but is often told by her daughter to make herself prettier. Natsu’s husband Yoshiyuki asks his subordinate Ryū, who’s also an actor, to ”tempt my wife a little“ in hopes of getting her to act womanly.”
Sailor Moon’s first official fan club will accept registrations starting March 15. Membership includes some goodies including a member-limited makeup gloss and member-only merchandise. In other Sailor Moon news, the Outer Guardians will get their own die-cast charms as part of Gashapon World’s Sailor Moon line-up for the Spring premiere of the third season.
