I missed a few things on last week’s roundup but thought they deserved a spot on this week’s post. We’ve got a wide variety of exciting news this week, including some new licensed BL manga!
Yona of the Dawn, a popular shoujo manga-turned-anime, is getting a stage play in 2016. The manga runs in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume. For more information, find details on the official website.
Moyoco Anno, creator of josei manga, is doing a collaboration with Ravijour to make a limited edition line of underwear. The pieces go on sale this Saturday (Sept. 26). Moyoco Anno is known for manga Happy Mani and Sugar Sugar Rune, both of which are published in English.
Digital Manga Publishing company is licensing 24 manga titles, which will be available digitally. For a list of manga being published by DMP go here. In more manga news, Viz Media’s Sublime imprint is releasing three series: Rihito Takai’s Ten Count, Bohra Naono’s Midnight Stranger and Yonezou Nekota’s Don’t Be Cruel. The series will be available in both print and digital format.
Chika Umino’s March Comes in Like a Lion manga will be adapted into both an anime and live-action film. The manga run’s in Hakunsha’s Young Animal magazine. According to Anime News Network, “The story of the manga follows a solitary shōgi player named Rei and his relationships with a neighboring family. He becomes acquainted with Akari, and two young girls, Hinata and Momo, who also have have a large number of cats.”
The opening movie for Idea Factory’s Hakuouki Shinkai: Kaze no Shou game. The game will be released on Friday (Sept. 25) on the Playstation Vita.
The original anime film The Anthem of the Heart, will play in select theaters in the U.S. and Canada Nov. 1, thanks to Aniplex America and Eleven Arts. Those who attend will receive a cast message board.
