The first series QQ Sweeper is by Kyousuke Motomi, mangaka of the already licensed Dengeki Daisy manga from Shojo Beat. It’s currently running in Betsucomi magazine. We’re getting volume 1 in October.
What’s it about? Kyutaro Horikita, the tall, dark and handsome cleaning expert of Kurokado High, is about to meet a sleeping maiden at the school: transfer student Fumi Nishioka! Fumi’s going to learn how to rid the school of nasty spirits with Kyutaro’s help, and her heart will surprisingly be “cleansed” too…!
This series has got to be my favorite license announcement for 2015. I’m a huge Dengeki Daisy fan, so I’m really looking forward to reading QQ Sweeper.
The second series Idol Dreams, taken from 31 Ai Dreams, is Arina Tanemura’s and is currently running in Melody magazine. We’re getting volume 1 in November.
What’s it about? At age 31, office worker Chikage Deguchi feels she missed her chances at love and success. When word gets out that she’s a virgin, Chikage is humiliated and wishes she could turn back time to when she was still young and popular. She takes an experimental drug that changes her appearance back to when she was 15. Now Chikage is determined to pursue everything she missed out on all those years ago—including becoming a star!
This show biz side of this series reminds me of Tanemura’s Full Moon, but an age transformation sounds interesting. I can at least be relieved that this license wasn’t Neko to Watashi no Kinyoubi.
YES!!! But, I find it so depressing that being a “virgin” is seen as a bad thing. So that premise really didn’t make me excited for Idol Dreams. Still, it looks pretty. Can’t wait to see what you think of these 2!
