The July issue of Hakusensha‘s LaLa DX magazine announced on Wednesday that manga creator Arina Tanemura drafted the original character designs for a “big media-mix project” called Idolish 7. The project will feature a smartphone game, music releases, manga, and a serialized novel. The story centers around the members of the idol group Idolish 7 and their rivals in the group Trigger.
Sailor Moon will be getting its very first mobile app called Sailor Moon Drops, which will be available this year. The puzzle-adventure game will be free-to-play and is open for pre-registration.
KOEI Tecmo games released a teaser for its latest game, La Corda D’oro 4. The dating simulation game, according to Anime News Network, “follows a girl named Kanade and her relationships with the orchestra members and other boys at her school.” La Corda D’oro has an anime and manga. The anime was licensed in the U.S. by Sentai Filmworks. The manga was licensed in the U.S. by Viz.
The anime, Star-Mu (which used to be High School Star Musical), is set to come out in October in Japan. A drama CD was released Aug. 5 and 12 song CDs will be released weekly, beginning Oct. 7. Crunchyroll describes the show as a bishounen musical comedy. According to a MyAnimeList, “The story involves a group of high school students at Ayana Academy, a school with music as its main focus. A trio of students are called Hanasakura-kai, designating the most talented from the music department. To get in, individuals must enter through a Star Frame class. The series tells the story of Yuuta Hoshiya*, Tooru Nayuki, Kaito Tsukikage, Shou Tengeiji, and Shuu Kuga as they aim for a position in the musical department after being spotted by Ootori, one of the Hanasakura-kai members.”
The 11th blu-ray volume of Sailor Moon Crystal is coming out Aug. 12, and features Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion on the cover. The volume, which includes episodes 21-22, comes with a 24-page booklet and a Venus Star Power Transformation Pen Charm.
DramaFever, a popular Asian drama streaming service, acquired a multi-year licensing deal with with CJ E&M, in order to bring more dramas to the U.S. and Canada. With this deal, DramaFever is bringing Korean dramas and movies such as Cheese in the Trap, Three Musketeers and Twenty Again to its viewers. The deal also brings special events and contests with exclusive CJ E&M content.
Japanese iOS otome game maker, Genius, released another app drama titled “Life is Beautiful” on iOS. According to Genius’s Facebook page, the story depics “the destiny of a girl and her childhood friend, who encounter a miraculous event.” The game is available to download in the App Store, and is also available on Google Play.
Really like this update! I love how this captures all the stuff us girls love even though most are sadly never coming to the US. I just hope that one day more companies see that there’s a market for us.
I don’t know why it just occurred to me, but because of this announcement, we know what manga Tanemura will be working on next. Since Neko to Watashi no Kinyoube is ending soon. At least it’s an idol group. 🙂
