Honest, intelligent news and reviews for manga romantics
Otakon was light on shoujo announcements, but Viz Media’s Shoujo Beat announced Saturday that it licensed Ojou-sama no Untenshu, translated to The Heiress and the Chauffeur by Keiko Ishihara. The two-volume series will be released beginning in May 2016.
According to Anime News Network, “the story takes place in the Taishō era, at a girl’s school where one young lady, Sayaka, earns the envy of all the other girls. She wears a red ribbon to mark her the top student at school. She is always followed by a chauffeur, an employee of her family. The rumor among the students is that the two are in love.”
The series originally ran in Hakusensha’s Lala DX magazine in 2010.

Interesting. Will check this out. Still hoping a series with at the least 10 volumes comes out. I’ve been going on shoujo shopping sprees after work with my tip money. I sincerely hope that my purchases do something to help the shoujo markets here in America and that more series are released. As much as I like shounen and Seinen, I really want more shoujo on my shelf.
