Cookie – Current Serializations

Cookie is a josei manga magazine published by Shueisha on a monthly basis that is aimed at an older female audience. We’ve gotten series in North America from Viz media.

So which series have we seen in North America? Of all the possibilities, we’ve gotten only Ai Yazawa’s Nana from Viz’s Shojo Beat. Well, what can we beg publishers for? Here’s what’s currently running in Cookie:

Yosh! Those are all the series currently running in Cookie. There are always short stories and one shots of course. These are the main series you will see that are ongoing.

So which of these series that’s non-licensed would I like to see? I haven’t read a lot of these series, so it’s hard to just choose. There are some I am familiar with, though.

Rojiura Shippo Shinryousho is the one that piques my interest the most. The premise of it being an animal clinic and working with animals is cute. I saw online where the mangaka posted pics readers sent in of their pets reading the manga. It was adorable!

Because it’s been running for a while now I’m really interested inSix Half. The art is really gorgeous in this series, but I haven’t read any of it to know what it’s about.

Haru Meguru is by Yuki Obata whose series We Were There (Bokura ga Ita) we got from Shojo Beat. Only thing is, the characters look the same. Plus, it hasn’t been running for a while so I’m not sure if it’s on hiatus or what.

I tried reading Honey Bitter quite a while ago. It was interesting with the MC having ESP abilities and working as an investigator. Not a typical school manga. It’s been awhile though, so I can’t remember if I lost interest or just ran out of stuff to read. 🙂

Good Morning Kiss has also been going awhile and looks like a cute story. I’ve not read it, so once again not sure about this one.
